Neuronic attending the PBM2024 in Westminster, London this August 22-25th as a Silver Sponsor. A successful few days where we got to listen to speakers presenting on the different photobiomodulation topics.

The event was all about photobiomodulation and was the 30th Year Anniversary for the World Association for Photobiomodulation Therapy!

The recent event featured numerous impactful research presentations on photobiomodulation (PBM), each contributing valuable insights to the field. Some key highlights include:

  • Professor Paolo Cassano presented findings using magnetic resonance spectroscopy, demonstrating that dosage significantly influences PBM's outcome measures, underscoring the importance of precise dosing in clinical applications.

  • Dr. Liisa Laakso explored the gut-brain axis, highlighting the potential of PBM in addressing fatigue, pain, and depression associated with inflammatory bowel disease, emphasizing the therapeutic possibilities in managing these complex conditions.

  • Michael Hamblin delivered an in-depth exploration of PBM in neurology. Notably, he discussed the application of functional near-infrared spectroscopy as a promising tool to measure the effects of transcranial PBM, as well as the distinct direct and systemic mechanisms involved in PBM therapy.

These presentations reflect the growing body of research that continues to expand our understanding of PBM and its diverse clinical applications.

Neuronic was represented by Co-founders Liam Pingree and Marvin Schoenauer and consultant Will Dixon. The team spent the time in London attending the booth in our exhibition hall while also attending talks and presentations by academics in the field. Neuronic was proud to be a silver sponsor at the event and we had a large interest in both our product and work over the 3 days. It was a chance also to meet other light therapy companies and collaborate, share ideas and understand each other. It's encouraging to see other light therapy companies do well, as there needs to be more awareness of the power of light, and we’ve only managed to create a small glow so far.

During the event it was a great chance to meet up with our Scientific Advisory Board members, Michael Hamblin and Dr. Liisa Laakso who both presented in numerous talks and hosted panel discussions throughout the event. Dr. Liisa Laakso is also a previous president of the WALT association which is the organization that is responsible for these events.

Neuronic is grateful to the organizers and everyone who we met at the event for making it such a great and enjoyable 3 days. Thank you to all those involved.
